Paraty, as its fame spreads, is becoming a center for a variety of international conferences and festivals.
The largest of these conferences so far is the international literary festival of Paraty known as FLIP. The Academy of Cooking & Other Pleasures organized, prepared andserved a six course garden lunch at the conference that honored one hundred special
guests of the festival - the authors, the publishers, and the press. Brazil’s national library, the Biblioteca Nacional was the sponsor of this lunch and Dom João de Orléans e Bragança was the host, shown beside Yara with both receiving the guests’ applause.
